Preparing for your Orca Kayaking Trip

To participate in our Orca kayaking trips an average fitness level and a love for the outdoors is required. Age is not important.

Children are very welcome, but they need a certain strength to paddle a double kayak on the front seat. Usually kids should not be younger than 12, always depending on the individual child. Please contact our office if you would like to bring your children along.
Participants should have an adventurous spirit to enjoy the rugged beauty of the British Columbia coastal wilderness and the sometimes very close encounters with whales.

On any Orca kayaking trips you should be prepared for any weather situation. Temperatures are usually very pleasant with a chance of encountering some cooler temperatures and rain as well.

What we provide for your Orca kayaking trips:

- All meals, beverages, snacks starting lunch day 1, ending lunch last day
- Premium Sea Kayaks and gear
- Return high speed catamaran transport Quadra Island/ Campbell River to camp in Johnstone Strait
- High quality tents
- Dry bags for personal gear protection
- Qualified tour guides

Your personal equipment which you should bring:

- Sleeping bag (can be rented)
- Sleeping pad (therm-a rest is best, can be rented)
- duffle bag
- beach sandals
- extra warm clothes
- rain gear
- sunglasses
- hat
- flash light
- swim suit

Please note: 60 days prior to your Orca kayaking trip departure, after we received your balance payment, we will mail you our comprehensive information package, including your personal equipment list, waivers, maps and directions etc.
